How The Media Creates Its Own News (Tiger Woods Story)

After the latest celebrity gossip story that has taken the news agencies and radio airwaves by storm - I come to the basic premise and ask this simple question -

WHO THE HELL CARES ABOUT TIGER WOODS' PERSONAL LIFE?!?!?!

The media is bummed because the Florida Highway Patrol announced they are giving Tiger a $164 ticket for careless driving, and 4 pts on his license. That's all there is.

Immediately after the accident happened, the media instantly refers to the tabloid story about Tiger Woods. Yes, the tabloids, whom we dismiss along with the Alien abduction stories, but so fast to use them as Exhibit A to generate a ratings-killer news story!!!

Do we see how the media works?

Tabloids start rumors, then things happen because of the tabloids, at times causing strife within a family. Then they report on the aftermath as NEWS, when they started the news in the first place, whether true or not. The media simply creates its own news.

And it's not solely the media to blame. A lot of people watch and want to know all about a celebrity's personal business, and meanwhile their own lives and family goes to crap because they're too busy watching tabloid news about celebrity gossip.

So i say then we make this come around full circle, line up the media outside their house, then they read about themselves on the news, and see how it feels.

HEADLINE: "Deadbeat Mom watches news all day about Tiger Woods and Michael Jackson and whoever the hell else. Meanwhile, kid jumps out 4 story bedroom window. Photos on TMZ."

Mom reading website: "What? Hey that's my house! Oh my gosh that's my kid!"

Get a grip, people. Focus on your own lives, quit supporting the tabloids and paparazzi, and help us get the media on track, reporting ACTUAL IMPORTANT NEWS!
