'They May Not Know What's Good For Them'

The poor, benighted little people. They just don't understand what a wonderful hopey-changey world President Obama is offering them . . .

The government media at it again....who's next at NBC, Baghdad Bob?

Andrea Mitchell has suggested that the problem Pres. Obama is facing in selling his health care plan to Americans who already have coverage is that people "may not know what's good for them", and apparently don't want "change".

Mitchell made her condescending comment on today's Morning Joe.

ANDREA MITCHELL: You've got 47% of the people in our NBC/Wall Street Journal opinion poll who have health insurance who don't like what the president is doing. The problem he's got -- 47% of the people who've got coverage don't want change. They don't like what they're hearing. Now, they may not know what's good for them, but the problem is that he always knew he was going to have to persuade people with insurance, that's the largest number, not the people without insurance, for expanded coverage. So they've got a real problem.

Condescension seems to be in the MSNBC air. Yesterday, tingly leg Chris Matthews, surprised that Sgt. James Crowley could handle a press conference, calling him "our Susan Boyle."

And they want to run our Health Care???

Officials Say Government Set to Suspend 'Cash for Clunkers' Program

'Cash for Clunkers' already out of gas?

They didn't see this coming?

So, yea....we'll let people bring in junk with doors falling off and give them $4500 for it. Yeah, I don't see more than maybe 10 people taking advantage of this. OK maybe 20. I mean, 100 people at the most.

Wait, what, 30,000? Already? But it's only Wednesday. It just started Monday.

Where'd all this money come from, anyway???? Just people holding out for deals??? CHRISTMAS IN JULY!!!

And one other thing - according to my calculator, 30,000 X $4,500 (assuming everyone got the top amount, which is impossible but just for fun) comes to...$135 million. Mmmmkay. But according to some of these reports we're just about out of the $1 BILLION set aside for the program. Really? I'd say the register is about $856 million short....let's go Barney. Nancy. You too, Barry. Yes you, with the beer in your hand. Empty your pockets.

Unless that all was spent on Thursday???

And you want to run our health care system.....

911 Caller in Gates Incident Says She Was Unfairly Called a 'Racist'

We continue to try to find ways to point fingers and call everyone involved a racist....other than, of course, the two who truly, and most obviously, are....

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/07/29/caller-gates-incident-says-unfairly-dubbed-racist/

Hypocrisy Alert!

2004 - Obama complains that the Bush administration was rushing legislation through congress without giving the legislators time to read the bills or allowing for much debate.

BARACK OBAMA: ...When you rush these budgets that are a foot high and nobody has any idea what's in them and nobody has read them.

RANDI RHODES: 14 pounds it was!

BARACK OBAMA: Yeah. And it gets rushed through without any clear deliberation or debate then these kinds of things happen. And I think that this is in some ways what happened to the Patriot Act. I mean you remember that there was no real debate about that. It was so quick after 9/11 that it was introduced that people felt very intimidated by the administration.

Courtesy NewsBusters.

Fox's Glenn Beck: President Obama is a racist

And he's correct in saying so.....because he is.

It's very simple -

The officer showed no racism.

The officer happened to be white.

The professor was racist.

Obama, states he doesn't know the facts, but says the Police acted stupidly and then goes on about how blacks (and latinos, throws that in there for good measure) are profiled and pulled over more, and states this as fact.

No other explanation for that, other than we saw his true character.

Add that to calling the Professor w/these classic video examples as his friend, plus attending Rev. Wright's church for 20 years....I think it's pretty clear.

Let's not act like it's all such a shock at Glenn Beck's comments.
Perhaps Glenn should follow up by saying he should have "calibrated his words differently" - as Barry put it, whatever the hell that was supposed to mean.

Cops Angered

Police nationwide join Cambridge, Mass., Police Commissioner Robert Haas in sending Obama a message after he said police acted 'stupidly' in their arrest of a black Harvard scholar: Get the facts.

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,534687,00.html

Many police officers across the country have a message for President Barack Obama Get all the facts before criticizing one of our own. Obama's public criticism that Cambridge officers "acted stupidly" when they arrested black Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. could make it harder for police to work with people of color, some officers said Thursday.

It could even set back the progress in race relations that helped Obama become the nation's first African-American president, they said.

The Cambridge Police Patrol Officer's Association president also strongly criticized the president's remarks in an interview with The Huffington Post.

"That was totally inappropriate. I am disgraced that he is our commander-in-chief," Stephen Killion said. "He smeared the good reputation of the hard-working men and women of the Cambridge Police Department. It was wrong to do. It was disgraceful," the web site quoted him as saying.

Obama remark on black scholar's arrest angers cops

The Double Standard speaks - racism is racism.

Obama remark on black scholar's arrest angers cops

As you sleep tonight, Barry - may you consider how you have quite possibly put the lives of many law enforcement officers in more jeopardy than they already had been, thanks to the signal you put out and into the minds of many law breakers, whose skin color will now become part of the issue....Rest assured that there will be those that now will confront officers more, and claim racism or profiling, thinking the President has got their back......and by the sound of it, you probably do.

Good job!

Crowley's union predicts Obama will regret remarks

http://www.boston.com/news/local/breaking_news/2009/07/crowleys_union.html

"He (Obama) conceded that he didn't have all the facts, and indeed he didn't," Alan J. McDonald, the lawyer for the Cambridge Police Superior Officers Association, said of the president. "I suspect that when the full picture comes out, he will regret the remarks he made."

........But the president added that it is "just a fact" that African-Americans and Latinos are disproportionately stopped by police -- evidence "that race remains a factor in our society."

_________________________________

(CNN) -- A Cambridge, Massachusetts, police officer said Thursday he will "never apologize" about how he handled the arrest of prominent black Harvard University professor Henry Louis Gates Jr.

Sgt. Jim Crowley said he has nothing to apologize for in regards to the arrest of Henry Louis Gates Jr.

"That apology will never come from me as Jim Crowley, it won't come from me as sergeant in the Cambridge Police Department," Sgt. James Crowley told Boston radio station WEEI. "Whatever anybody else chooses to do in the name of the city of Cambridge or the Cambridge Police Department which are beyond my control, I don't worry about that. I know what I did was right. I have nothing to apologize for."

Crowley also said he was exercising caution and is clearly not a racist based on his previous actions.

Those actions, Crowley told the Boston Herald, include giving mouth-to-mouth resuscitation to former Boston Celtics star Reggie Lewis, who suffered a fatal heart attack in 1993 at Brandeis University when Crowley was a campus cop.

"I wasn't working on Reggie Lewis the basketball star. I wasn't working on a black man," Crowley told the Boston Herald. "I was working on another human being."

Gates was arrested last week at his home after a confrontation with Crowley. Cambridge authorities on Tuesday dropped disorderly conduct charges against Gates.

Crowley also told WEEI that when he asked Gates to come out of his home, he thought a break-in had occurred or was still happening.

"I didn't know who [Gates] was. I was by myself. I was the only police officer standing there, and I got a report of people breaking into a house," Crowley told WEEI. "That was for my safety first and foremost. I have to go home at night, I have three beautiful children and a wife who depend on me. So I had no other motive than to ensure my safety."

Crowley told WEEI that he was "disappointed" that Obama interjected himself into the situation.

"He's the president of the United States, and I support the president to a point," Crowley told WEEI. "I think it's disappointing that he waded into what should be a local issue and something that is -- really that plays out here. As he himself had said at the beginning of that press conference, he didn't know all the facts. He certainly doesn't based on those comments. I just think it was very disappointing."

President Gets Racial, Plays Victim/Profile Card

In Obama's Heath Care Campaign Conference last night (the man intends on running in campaign mode for his entire term) - we won't get into what was said about health care (basically about 45 minutes full of absolutely nothing) - the President did interject racism and used his stage to 'stupidly' accuse a Law Enforcement agency.

See right through the double standard.....it goes both ways, Barry. That was a racist statement. Is this part of what you learned in Rev. Wright's church you attended for 20 years?

FULL ABC NEWS ARTICLE:

Obama's Comments on Gates Arrest Stir Reaction

When asked about the Gates' case at the end of Wednesday night's prime-time news conference that was intended to be chiefly about health care, the president said, "I don't know, not having been there and not seeing all the facts, what role race played in that."

But Obama went on to say, "But I think it's fair to say, number one, any of us would be pretty angry; number two, that the Cambridge police acted stupidly in arresting somebody when there was already proof that they were in their own home; and, number three, what I think we know separate and apart from this incident is that there's a long history in this country of African-Americans and Latinos being stopped by law enforcement disproportionately. That's just a fact."

Police say Gates yelled at the officers and initially refused to show his ID. Gates allegedly yelled “this is what happens to a black man in America” and “you don’t know who you’re messing with” before he was arrested, and police said he was uncooperative. ( read the arrest report )

Obama Admits He’s “Not Familiar” With House Bill

It's good to know the guy trying to ram a bill (again) through Congress and claim it's for the good of the people, doesn't even know what's in it, himself.

It's simply an agenda, folks.....It's time to wake up and draw the line in the sand.

Rep. Russ Carnahan jeered on healthcare reform

Washington Times -

During a healthcare forum on Monday, Congressman Russ Carnahan, (D- MO.), was mocked by an audience member who asked, "If it's so good why doesn't Congress have to be on it?"(h/t Real Clear Politics) Perhaps Mr. Carnahan should look closely at Resolution 615 which would require members of Congress who vote for a government healthcare option to enroll themselves and their families into the same government healthcare plan.

Yeah, let me think about that....

Ok I'm done thinking.
No.
But thanks anyway.

Not that I could give two you-know-whats about this pathetic excuse for a human being, but the guy can't get away with this without some sort of comment.

Singer Chris Brown publicly apologized for assaulting his pop star girlfriend, Rihanna, in a video statement posted on his personal Web site Monday.

"I have told Rihanna countless times, and I'm telling you today, that I'm truly, truly sorry in that I wasn't able to handle the situation both differently and better," Brown said.

"What I did was unacceptable, 100 percent. I can only ask and pray that you forgive me. Please."

Translation: My wallet is really starting to hurt now. So now I'm sorry. I shouldn't have barbarically beat the living crap out of a woman, I now understand how that hurts my music sales and endorsement deals and awards. Please forgive me and buy my stuff.

Fun With Captions + 6 month evaluation

OBAMA SOX

And with everyone taking the latest polls and giving their 6 month evaluation, that's really all I have to say....picture is worth a 1,000 words they say. Apparently, they are correct.

In other "news" (well, according to CNN) - his choice of jeans is the topic of discussion and Obama's comments in regards to them. I, for some reaosn, find myself waiting for him to begin saying that he 'inherited the jeans from the previous administration' or something to that effect, perhaps they were left in the closet. I mean, why not? We use that line for everything else that goes wrong.

Transparency & Bipartisanship

Remember that? Part of Obama's 2,970,235 campaign promises to the gullible american idol voters was his goal to reach across the aisle and come up with bipartisan solutions.....as well as have a transparent administration.

I'm not sure what he thinks the definition is of "transparent", here's the statement on the whitehouse website. But trying to constantly rush and shove ground shattering, trillion $ spending, horrific bills through the House and Senate before anybody (citizens, reps, senators, lobbyists) even has a chance to actually read them (and therefore the realization of how bad it actually is) doesn't seem very transparent to me....How about you???? It's more like that car salesman attitude again trying to get you to just sign the papers without reading it....

And as for that bipartisanship reaching across the aisles? Turned more into 'we have majority so don't even look at the other side of the aisle, let alone reach across it.'

When will America snap out of the hypnosis? That is the question.

How inappropriate!

Clinton: U.S. Doing All It Can to Free Captured Soldier in Afghanistan

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/07/20/clinton-doing-free-captured-soldier-afghanistan/

"We are attempting to do everything we can to locate him and free him," Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said in an interview aired Monday on ABC's "Good Morning America."

"It's just outrageous," she said. "It's a real sign of desperation and inappropriate criminal behavior on the parts of these terrorist groups, so we are going to do everything we can to get him."

Inappropriate criminal behavior on the parts of these terrorist groups? Really?

IT IS THE TALIBAN! THEY ARE TERRORISTS, YOU IGNORAMUS!!! LET ME REPEAT THAT, THEY ARE TERRORISTS! THIS IS WHAT THEY DO, THEY KILL PEOPLE BY SLICING HEADS OFF OR RAMMING PLANES INTO SKYSCRAPERS. THEY TERRORIZE PEOPLE!!!!

Oh how inappropriate, such criminal behavior....why this just totally takes me by surprise, and I thought we could sit down and have a chat with them over tea!!!!

If you vote for it......

(amazingly, as of yet, no Democrats have backed this resolution....)

Over the past few weeks, members of Congress and the American people have come to know the details of the Administration's proposed health care plan. Call it whatever you like, I believe this proposal is nothing more than government-run health care. As a physician, I am amazed at the number of bureaucrats in this House who are quick to claim a government-run health care plan is the reform this country needs. In response to this, I have offered a resolution that will offer members of Congress an opportunity to put their money where their mouth is, and urge their colleagues who vote for legislation creating a government-run health care plan to lead by example and enroll themselves in the same public plan.

Under the current draft of the Democrat healthcare legislation, members of Congress are curiously exempt from the government-run health care option, keeping their existing health plans and services on Capitol Hill. If Members of Congress believe so strongly that government-run health care is the best solution for hard working American families, I think it only fitting that Americans see them lead the way. Public servants should always be accountable and responsible for what they are advocating, and I challenge the American people to demand this from their representatives.

Together we will work to ensure that any plan that is good enough is for American families is good enough for every member of Congress.

Enjoy.

And you're welcome.

Obama is a "Twit"? Say it isn't so!

Some entertaining responses to my earlier blog on Twitter, one of my favorites is someone bringing to my attention that Barack Obama is on Twitter. With 1,754,447 'followers', twitting their lives away.

This confirms a lot of my earlier hunches....in that Twitter is somehow partially responsible for the current state of our country, as well as those who are using it.....

Of course I'm being humorously sarcastic...............or am I?

Are you a Twit?

So what is it with Twitter, anyway? At first my thought is, what is worse than someone who thinks they are special enough to type and upload constant babble about what they are doing right now or thinking all day long? What kind of person does this? I'm going to type all day what I'm doing, like anybody gives a flip! Who is going to actually read that?

Well there is something worse than that. Finding out that there are thousand upon thousands of people that do care and who actually DO read it! Whom apparently have even less to do than the person who is tweet-twatting-whatever you want to call it. These people want to read all day about what other people are doing or saying.....

Is there anyone out there doing anything productive anymore? I mean seriously....is Twitter taking off because of the unemployment rate? Or did Twitter cause the high unemployment rate? Maybe that's why gas prices are going down again, no one is doing anything but sitting around Twitting.....

None of your **** business.

You know I can't stand the guy, but Kanye West actually cracked me up commenting recently about Twitter:

“DON’T HAVE A F****** TWITTER… WHY WOULD I USE TWITTER??? I ONLY BLOG 5 PERCENT OF WHAT I’M UP TO IN THE FIRST PLACE. I’M ACTUALLY SLOW DELIVERING CONTENT BECAUSE I’M TOO BUSY ACTUALLY BUSY BEING CREATIVE MOST OF THE TIME AND IF I’M NOT AND I’M JUST LAYING ON A BEACH I WOULDN’T TELL THE WORLD. EVERYTHING THAT TWITTER OFFERS I NEED LESS OF. THE PEOPLE AT TWITTER KNOW I DON’T HAVE A F****** TWITTER SO FOR THEM TO ALLOW SOMEONE TO POSE AS ME AND ACCUMULATE OVER A MILLION NAMES IS IRRESPONSIBLE AND DECEITFUL TO THERE FAITHFUL USERS. REPEAT… THE HEADS OF TWITTER KNEW I DIDN’T HAVE A TWITTER AND THEY HAVE TO KNOW WHICH ACCOUNTS HAVE HIGH ACTIVITY ON THEM. IT’S A F****** FARCE AND IT MAKES ME QUESTION WHAT OTHER SO CALLED CELEBRITY TWITTERS ARE ACTUALLY REAL OR FAKE. HEY TWITTER, TAKE THE SO CALLED KANYE WEST TWITTER DOWN NOW …. WHY? … BECAUSE MY CAPS LOCK KEY IS LOUD!!!!!!!!!”

Hilarious.

I have to add this question, as well - why does everyone that uses Twitter avoid the obvious? If you use Twitter, you are obviously a "Twit".

Creative they are with other ways to say it like tweet, tweeter, twat, this and that, but if you are a user of Twitter, that makes you a "Twit". There's no getting around it!

So, how does this relate to the Double Standard, you ask? I'll tell you, fine reader asking such a wonderful question. In this country, so caught up in privacy and the screaming at any invasion of it (e.g. hey don't watch what i do on the internetz i may be doing something illegal, that's an invasion of my privacy!) these same people will turn around and Twit all day so that everyone knows their business, and they can know and stalk everyone else's business just the same.

And so, in that sense, I can therefore go ahead and file this, under yet another example of the Double Standard.

Now I'm sure many of you out there use Twitter, or know a "friend" who "tweets", and some may be all up in arms now because I had to comment on this and extend my opinion on this latest infatuation by you creepy stalkers.....I'm sorry, Terrific Wonderful Individuals Twitting in our Society (TWITS). So take it easy, I'm just making an observation.

Utilities Scramble to Meet Power Needs of Electric Cars

Finally an article posing one of several questions in regards to the electric car craze. The first being, are our utilities companies capable of handling such an increase?

This TIME article discusses the topic:

http://www.time.com/time/business/article/0,8599,1910444,00.html?cnn=yes

I follow that up with questions in regards to our grid, as well, which I doubt in its current state, is capable.

Of course I'm sure while we all pay higher power bills this could be another excuse to raise our rates, again - 'well we've got to prepare for the electric cars and make improvements'.

I also pose the question that I have still not yet seen an answer to, nor even asked. I imagine a good portion of the market for automakers trying to sell these now that we want to just totally rush the entire industry in this direction - will be those living in condos, townhomes, apartments, etc. Just how are these types of owners/residents supposed to plug their cars in, when they buy them? Has anyone thought about this? Anyone?

Bueller? Bueller?

This Week In "Barry Goes To........"

Ol' Barry threw the first pitch of the All-Star game last night in St. Louis. You can watch it HERE. There is debate as to why half the crowd booed. Whether it was because of his White Sox jacket or because they just disapprove of what he's doing in office. I'll let you all decide.

By the way, Barry, it's Comiskey Park, not 'Cominskey Field"....I'm sure that a long time die hard White Sox fan like yourself would know this.....I mean unless of course........you.....nah, can't be....

Meanwhile, he also apparently met with the.........Burger King?

Oh I'm sorry, that's Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi. Apparently he's not a fan of the golden arches.

Sorry about the mixup, there, Burger King.

Glenn Beck - Current Events & Politics - Glenn Beck: Down a Czar

Fun commentary above by Mr. Beck on the Car Czar stepping down, and who's going to take over (i.e. Ron Bloom). Because who better to replace a guy who had no idea what he was doing, to now help fix an auto industry that was ruined by unions than a guy who...............headed up and ran a union?

My only comment is, I guess Rattner figures his job's done now......GM just left bankruptcy court so really, what's left to do? Other than make it worse, and the new guy can take care of that.

The bigger question I must ask is, now that we know where Sherman ended up, where exactly is Mr. Peabody these days?

I like how the people on his left only get a quick glance after that point......excuse us, while the President will now simply speak to the people on his right where the working teleprompter is.

Even more entertaining is the CNN news anchors quick to give him tips on how he should prepare for his speeches and have backup notes. Really??? Have we come to the conclusion now that our esteemed President needs Speech Class-level pointers?

Thanks for the heads up, Wolf.

Hey maybe we can hire people to clean that up and claim them as jobs created by the President. And now he'll of course have to buy another one, as he can't survive without it, which will in turn, stimulate the economy. All part of his plan.
